Very important traces of the past attested by the ancient Italic necropolis.

In the early 1500s in Antwerp was flourishing the processing and production of artistic ceramics, witnessed by some valuable works at Villa d'Este of Tivoli, from the tiles of the Church of S. Maria delle Grazie to Collarmele, from the statue of San Rocco in the Mother Church. In the following centuries the artistic work was abandoned and instead an intense production of crockery and clay objects developed, with many artisan families and workshops with terracotta ovens. The typical objects are the "pignata" and the "cuckoo". The Municipality of Antwerp degli Abruzzi has for many years been open to cultural exchanges and to social and tourist relations with countries and citizens of other European nations. In 2005 it was made official the Twinning with the Municipality of Illiers-Combray (France), through the literary connection between d'Annunzio and Marcel Proust. Contacts and relations have been developed with Senglea (Malta), Gemünden Whora (Germany), Conniston (United Kingdom), Baarn (Holland), the island of Zakynthos (Greece) and recently also with Antwerpen (Belgium).
Various products characterize the town of Antwerp degli Abruzzi, from olive oil to Montepulciano wine, from sheep’s cheese and ricotta to typical salami, from guitar to lamb sauce to roast game; without forgetting the local sweets and homemade liqueurs.
