The municipality is part of the Sirente-Velino Regional Natural Park. Cerchio is part of the association Borghi Autentici d'Italia. The town is located on the slopes of Mount Sirente on the north-east side of the Fucino basin in a high position at 834 meters above sea level.
Its territory falls within the boundaries of the Sirente-Velino Regional Natural Park and is included in the area of the Valle del Giovenco. To the north it is dominated by the Sirente-Velino chain.
Today Cerchio is a welcoming village with the presence of many receptive and commercial activities that combine the ancient traditions of the past with the needs of modern life. Many farmers who highlight local products with dedication and love from production to sale. There are many typical excellences of the country, from the riches of the land to the breeding of livestock, from the production of cheese to the most widespread crafts, without forgetting the production of the precious saffron and honey.
