National Park of Pollino

Between the peaks of Dolcedorme and Cozzo del Pellegrino and the horizons that are drawn on the waters of the Tyrrhenian Sea and the Ionian Sea, along the Calabrian-Lucan massif of Pollino and Orsomarso, Nature and Man weave millennial relationships that the Pollino National Park, established in 1993, preserves and protects under its emblem, the loricate pine.

The entire area, on protected areas, consists of the Massicci del Pollino and Orsomarso, a mountain range of the southern Apennines, on the border between Basilicata and Calabria.

It has some of the highest peaks in southern Italy, covered with snow for large periods of the year.

From its peaks, over 2200 meters above sea level, you can see, with the naked eye, to the west the Tyrrhenian coast of Maratea, Praia a Mare, Belvedere Marittimo and to the east the Ionian coast from Sibari to Metaponto
