Mirabella Eclano is an Italian town of 6 775 inhabitants in the province of Avellino in Campania.
This is one of the oldest and most important historical villages in the Calore and Ufita valleys, a land of authentic flavours and the Tirata del Carro, a community ritual between the sacred and the profane. The town of Mirabella Eclano is located in the Valle del Calore area.
The etymology of the name comes from the union of "mira", which has the meaning of "look", and "bellum" in reference to the beauty of the place, while the term "Eclano" comes from Aeclanum, an ancient Samnite center located in the area. The inhabitants are called mirabella and the Madonna del Latte is their patron.
Places of interest: Archaeological Park of Aeclanum - Ancient city of the Eneolithic age, is one of the most important Samnite centers of Irpinia, with an area of about 18 hectares where there are also traces of buildings dating back to the Imperial age.
