Oasis Valle della Caccia

The Oasi Valle della Caccia is a protected place among the most fascinating and wild of the Monti Picentini Regional Park.
The Oasis is located within a Site of Community Importance and a Special Protection Area ;
The area extends over 450 hectares, here you will find a station of black pines, a spectacular waterfall about 30 meters high , a wild valley, the caves of moss. Present a CAI path that leads to the Caves of Profonnale and Lucinella . A real dip in nature.

The woods are among the most beautiful of the Campania Apennines, a rugged mountain environment crossed by the Acquabianca stream that forms a beautiful waterfall and moss caves.

The species present are those typical of the Apennines : the wolf, the wild cat, the badger, the dormouse, the marten, the moscardino and the fox; Also the avifauna is very numerous, the most relevant species is undoubtedly the black woodpecker, but also the many raptors, such as golden eagle, peregrine falcon, buzzard, owl, tawny owl, common owl and barn owl.
Among the amphibians can be observed the yellow-bellied howl, the spotted salamander and the Italic newt.

The flora is characteristic of the Apennines.
There are many wild orchids and eagles.
The beech predominates, with specimens of considerable size, in the company of birches, mountain maples, mountain ash, laburnum, ornelli and beautiful ancient holly and yew.

Crocus, violet and daffodil bloom in the clearings.

Particularly interesting is the presence of a station of hanging birch; and also of an oak grove of exceptional beauty. In the wettest part there is a station of Erica terminalis and on the rocks the rare and endemic black pine.
