Bucciano is an Italian town of about 2000 inhabitants, in the province of Benevento in Campania. Located on the southern aquifer of Mount Taburno, its territory is between an altitude of 240 and 1275 m a.s.l., equal to an altitude hike of 1,035 m. It is part of the Agrarian Region n. 3, between the Taburno-Camposauro mountains. Not long ago there was a very famous water in the village, flowing from a fountain that was called "Fontana del Duca".
Among the monuments and places of interest we find the Sanctuary of the Madonna del Taburno, built on the slopes of Mount Taburno in the fifteenth century: according to tradition, This happened following the miraculous healing of a deaf-mute shepherdess who found a statue of the Virgin Mary in a nearby cave. It was the seat of a convent of the Dominican friars from 1498 to 1743; followed by periods of neglect that alternated with partial restoration, until the gradual reopening from 2007. The sanctuary is a popular destination for pilgrimages. Remarkable is the church with its Gothic vaults, and the frescoes found during the last restorations. .
The town is part of the Carolino aqueduct, which leads the waters to the Royal Palace of Caserta, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It has a utilized agricultural area of about 258.84 hectares, among the main agricultural products cultivated, we find cereals, wheat, oil, wine, and mulberries, maize and legumes. Among the curiosities I like to mention that the Napoli Centrale band talks about the Buccianese in the track called, in fact, 'A gente 'e Bucciano, contained in the debut album of 1975. The text (which makes the town a pars pro toto of the small rural centers of the South) is a reflection on emigration to Northern Italy, in search of work and benefits that in reality never arrive
