Solopaca is a territory inhabited with certainty since the time of the Samnites.
It became central in the socio-economic fabric of the Telesina valley in the late Middle Ages, when after the destruction of the city of Telese the surviving inhabitants moved en masse to Solopaca. Since then the town has seen a continuous development due mainly to the passage in the municipal territory of the royal road Naples-Campobasso-Termoli.
